Pre-Columbian, Peru, Paracas, ca. 500 to 300 BCE. A wide textile panel that is hand-woven from tightly braided camelid fiber threads in hues of red, yellow, and blue. Displayed across the panel are several diagonal columns of abstract llama heads, each bearing pointed ears, petite eyes, and diamond-shaped snouts. The textile panel is mounted on a modern white backing within a display frame. Size (textile): 18.5" W x 4.8" H (47 cm x 12.2 cm); (frame): 1.375" L x 25" W x 11.8" H (3.5 cm x 63.5 cm x 30 cm)
