1 Fine British Architectural Original Bronze Barclays Bank Eagle Bird Wall Plaque Sculpture.
Subject an eagle bird with legs spreaded apart facing left.
Rare & made from bronze.
A feature that stands out is the detail shown to the wings & feathers & having 3 ducal coronet crowns, 1 on each wing and the other shown on its chest.
A fascinating feature for your home exterior or garden wall, you can cement it in above your door for an impressive look.
A nice small size being 52 cm high and 43.5 cm wide.
Circa mid 20th century.
So collectible and highly sought after.

It weights around 10kg approximate.
Origin from off the front buliding of a Barclays Bank.
In 1728 Barclay Bank opened in Lombard Street London. It adopted the Black Spread Eagle from a shop sign on the street as the business expanded. The three Ducal coronets were added 1937 as Barclays had applied for a Grant of Arms in order to differentiate the Eagle from other types.
