Four pieces of majolica: 1. Griffin, Smith & Hill; Etruscan "Shell and Seaweed" platter; scalloped border; impressed mark on base; 13 3/4"L, 9 1/4"W, 1 1/2"H; roughness and some glaze loss to edge on one end with a small repair only on the underside, a few minor glaze chips along edges on back side---2. Majolica compote having a shell shaped dish supported on dolphin legs, tripartite base, uinmarked; 8 1/2" x 9", 4 1/4"H; good condition---3. Round plate having a leaf design in shades of pink, green, brown and amber; unmarked; 8 3/8" dia.; scattered glaze dings and scuffs to high points---4. Compote having a raised leaf design on a brown ground, rising on a flared leaf-decorated round foot, unmarked; 8 5/8" dia., 4 1/2"H; good condition---From the estate of Joseph Ewing, long-time antiques dealer in OH, NC, and SC, to benefit the Laurens County Museum Association and the Laurens County Humane Society, Laurens, SC.
