Description

I offer a beautiful original watercolor on paper, signed Marc Chagall. (AFTER) This is a one of a kind piece. The imagery is typical of many Chagall circus pieces.
I am selling as "After Chagall." Do your own due diligence. All paperwork included is listed below.

Titled: "Acrobat In Red Stockings"

Size: Approx. 11 x 15 inches. Sold unframed.
Framed image above just shown as an example of simple framing that will make this piece a real masterpiece.

Paperwork:
(1)An original signed Provenance and Certification document on letterhead stationary from son of British government official.
(2)A COA as attributed to Chagall by a pHD in Art History (image shown above)
(3)An older appraisal from 2007 from pHD in Art History.
(4)A second COA on the signature by Herman Darvick, an autograph expert with a CV as an author, and an entry in the World Book Encyclopedia.
(5)A copy of a letter from the British government dated 1955. Letter acknowledges an attempt from the owner to return art he had in his possession that was from forced seizures between 1933-1945. This piece was part of that collection as verified by the Provenance document.
(6)A copy of a letter dated 1956, from Herbert Tannenbaum a prominent art dealer in Europe, to the previous owner (written in German but easily translated). Tannenbaum had a prominent gallery in Mannheim, Germany in the 1940's. This letter shows a gift of 3 original Chagall pieces of art by Tannenbaum to the previous owner for favors done.
