18th to early 19th century Japanese sword fuchi (bordering piece between the sword guard and the handle) with relief design of several temple rooftops and overlaid gold details of deciduous trees, pines and geese in flight. Excellent quality crisp work, some wear to gilding. Length 1.49 inches.
