Description
CUT GLASS FONT AND FIGURAL STEM KEROSENE BANQUET STAND LAMP, colorless compressed globular-form peg font with cut panel band to upper and lower rings, cast brass stem with bronze finish depicting three cherubs, top with acanthus leaves and a stylized scroll foot, stem mounted on a circular-form redware ceramic foot. Fitted with a period setup comprising a Hinks No. 2 duplex burner, colorless and frosted Sherwood cylinder-form shade with acid-etched stylized floral and pinwheel pattern, fitter with acid etched "SHERWOOD BIRMINGHAM", shade top fitted with a metal insect screen, embossed on top "JAMES HINKS & SON'S PATENT / BIRMINGHAM". Probably J. Hinks & Sons. Late 19th century. 33 1/2" H to top of insect screen, 17 1/2" H to top of collar, 6 3/4" D foot. Shade 9 1/8" H, 4 3/4" D fitter.

Condition
Very good overall condition, base of stem with a separation/light denting, font and collar each de-attached. Burner and deflector with denting, elevator feature not working, shade fitter with several minute flakes/roughness, chimney and insect screen undamaged
