This awesome piece is a dedication to Walt Disney Studios cartoonists Jack Hannah and Carl Barks. This board is for Donald Duck Finds Pirates Gold, a comic created by Hannah and Barks. Insert is a photo of the two men together, with signatures of each below. Included is a certificate of authenticity from the Carl Barks studio. Above both men is a brief bio. It is unframed and measures 16" x 20". Collection from uberfan and super collector of animation art, all things Disney, Warner Bros/Looney Tunes, Universal/Betty Boop etc, Chuck Jones and more! Hannah was born in Nogales, AZ in 1913. During the Depression, he was hired at Walt Disney Studios. He received credits for 21 Disney cartoons. The attached clip states that he and Barks began collaboration in 1939, Wiki says 1942. Regardless, he began working with Barks collaborating on comics with one being Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold. After Disney, Jack moved on to work with Walter Lantz and Woody Woodpecker. Mr. Hannah passed in 1994. Barks was born in 1901, Merrill, OR. He began working with Walt Disney in 1935. In 1937, when Donald Duck became a star in his own right, he was partnered with Hannah and together they wrote stories for Donald. Barks was unhappy with the direction of the business during the war and left Disney in 1942. H began working on Donald Duck comics with Western Publishing. He retired in 1966 but was asked to continue writing stories for Western. He passed at the age of 99 in 2000.
