Description
Large oil on canvas cloth signed C. Van Evera entitled Bread. This is a wonderful mid-century modern painting of cut bread, bread knife, glass of ale and Toby mug style picture which I found to be of Sarreguemines. This painting is also from the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe art club Inc. 17th anniversary members expedition, 1967.On the back of the painting is the paper label used at the expedition. Artist name is Caroline Van Evera, Greenwich Lodge, Greenwich Connecticut. Titled bread and medium is oil with a price tag of $2,000. I believe this had once hung at 500 Blake Street restaurant in New Haven until it's closing in 2006.I said canvas cloth because this is not a typical canvas but more like a soft cloth instead of the normal canvas but yet the painting is very tight and rigid.28" x 23 1/2" canvas39" x 35" frame

Very good, few areas of small paint loss, please see photos.
