Framed travel visa document with signature of James Buchanan as Secretary of State. Hand signed in ink to lower right. Various seals and state department stamps present, United States of America and France. Dated February 4, 1867. Creasing and some staining to paper observed. Not examined out of frame. Professionally framed in wood frame under mat and Tru-Vue Museum Glass. Measures approx. 20 3/8 x 14 5/8 inches, window approx. 18.75 x 13 1/8 inches. James Buchanan Jr. was an American lawyer, diplomat, and politician who served as the 15th president of the United States from 1857 to 1861.
