Vintage Art Nouveau style "Ruslan and Ludmila" fairy tale by Alexander Pushkin, artwork designed by Gleb Lubimov [signed in plate]; Limited edition porcelain plate by the Vinogradoff Porcelain Factory, Soviet Union. Stated [in Russian] First Series of the Fairy Tales collector plates.

The plate is c.7.3/4" [19.7cm] across, there are two holes in the rim on the backside for the hanging; fine condition.

This plate is the only official issue of artwork "Ruslan and Ludmila", the picture specially designed for this series by the artist Gleb Lubimov, the master-painter of the artists' village Pallech, specialized on the black lacquer painting. The motif is based on the fairy tale by Pushkin. The edition of this plates limited to 195 days of firing; Up to seventeen layers of pigments and original 18kt gold was used to create the pictures. It is the first such edition of the ornamental Palekh style plates created by Vinogradoff Porcelain Factory, Soviet Union. The motif mark is "Bradex 60-V25-I.I" copyright 1988.
