Fina earned a MFA in Ceramics, School for American Craftsmen, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York. Master potter Angela Fina is known for her work in high fired porcelain and her development of a palette of original glazes. Fina’s clean and simple forms reflect their practical utility. Although most of her work was thrown, she also hand built pieces using slabs or extrusion methods. Fina focused on the chemistry and formulation of glazes resulting in the range of rich glazes used to finish her pots. She fired in the same gas kiln for most of her career.
