An original "We Shall Overcome" - Freedom March portfolio memento of 1963. This Civil Rights portfolio is titled "We Shall Overcome" and was created to commemorate the "March On Washington For Jobs and Freedom August 28, 1963" - it was published by the National Urban League in the same year and was created specifically for those who participated in this historic march on Washington. It was led by many activist of the time including Dr. Martin Luther King (see facsimile signatures of leaders in the portfolio) who made his famous "I Have A Dream" speech. This portfolio contains the original 7 pages and cover art by Louis LoMonaco - 5 collage prints included in the portfolio are also by LoMonaco. This example is in very fine if not excellent condition, with only minor use wear. The portfolio measures 9 1/4" x 11". These fragile portfolios are considered very uncommon, especially one in such fine condition.
