Large and Impressive Chinese Buddhist Icon

Ming period, 17th century, painted in ink color and gilt on textile, probably silk, the figure of Amida wearing an elaborate headdress and earrings, with a fur-trimmed and embroidered robe, seated in an armchair and surrounded by lineage figures, now in a Regency-style frame.

In "as is" estate condition. Overall abrading to surface along with scattered losses to pigment intensity. Old creases, tears, and small losses to fabric throughout, including two areas along left edge and at lower right. Possible old repair to upper center; smaller other repairs. Some soiling.
