Description
A Japanese lacquered covered box, dating from the Meiji period. The covered box is within another covered box, with cord to tie together. Very fine, thin covered box lacquered with small circles inlaid with nature elements like butterfly, leaf, flower, clustered towards the bottom of the cover. Signed with gold characters on outside and inside of cover.
Inner Box: H. 7 1/2" (19 cm), W. 5 1/2" (14 cm)
