Description
Leonard Wood (1860-1927) General. Wood was a Medal of Honor-winning military officer and physician who served as Army Chief of Staff and then Governor-General of Cuba and the Philippines. During the Spanish-American War, he commanded the Rough Riders, with Theodore Roosevelt as his second-in-command. 13 ½” x 18” etching printed by Charles Barmore, signed in pencil “Leonard Wood Maj. Genl USA.” Also indicated as “Trial Proof for Copper Plate # 15.” Not entirely flat. A few waves towards the bottom of the poster.
