After law school and a stint in the textile * industry, in 1960 he devoted himself completely to painting already * practiced amateur. Self-taught painter, he settled for three years in * Pont-Aven in the footsteps of Gauguin and Emile Bernard, the latter much * influence he painted many landscapes and characters typical of this * region particularly involved. * * His works are typified by a fluid and * free gestural approach to both form and color, and they are immediately * recognizable.  He is adept at both painting on canvas and * watercolor, and is an accomplished lithographer.  His subjects * are diverse, but are primarily a reflection on the landscape of the * Brittany regions as he has profound love for the * coast. *
