Manufacturer: Unknown (Caucasian?) (c. early 18th C.)
Model: Blunderbuss
Caliber: approx. .70 Cal.
Barrel Length: 9 in. (13 in. w/ flared muzzle)
OAL: 27 in.
Condition: Good; wood stock has moderate wear for age w/ dings & patina you would expect; crack on left side near brass plate; crack on front end near muzzle; repaired crack on rear end of club; dings & indents on "club" style butt; barrel appears to be bronze w/ dark green patina & scattered rust & pitting; some dings; brass embossing has patina & wear commensurate w/ age; bore is dark w/ heavy rust & pitting; lock & trigger mechanism function well
Marks: 2 unidentified proof stamps on left side of barrel; one appears to be a rifleman in a circle, while the other appears to be a rampant horse or lion
Notes: This is a truly unique piece, that by all accounts, appears to be one of a kind. No examples could be found of another Blunderbuss with the "club" style butt near as large as this.
