Description

DESCRIPTION: Ten books from the "Oeuvres Completes" of Victor Hugo published by E. Girard and A. Boitte in Paris. These volumes do not comprise a complete set, but do feature illustrations, marbled endpapers and gilt decoration on spines. Includes "Notre-Dame De Paris" and two portions of "Les Miserables". Books are in French.

CONDITION: Not a complete set; in addition, only two out of three volumes featuring "Les Miserables" are present. Scuffing, scratching, chipping, and other wear to boards. Possible water damage to edges of boards. Spines are generally in great condition apart from some minor chips and minor wear in spots. Book stamp of previous owner on front free endpaper. One page of volume XVII has a tear, not affecting the text, to one page, which has been repaired with tape. Pages have toning, foxing and staining, with foxing and staining affecting the text, but not its legibility, in some places. Some bent or wrinkled page corners.
