Russell Carrell's Painted Wood Trade Sign. Of traditional shield shape, inscribed in black paint with details concerning the contents and operation of Carrell's shop for the "Antiquarian and Dealer." Provenance: Russell Carrell, (Salisbury, Connecticut and St. Kitts, West Indies, 1917-1998), was a well-known antiques dealer and manager of many shows. At the height of his career he produced or managed twenty-eight shows, indoors and out, from New Hampshire to California, and including the New York Winter Antiques show. H: 35.125 in., W: 25.75 in., D: 1.75 in.
