Description
Pair George II Jacobite Engraved Composite Stem Wine Glasses, 1745-60. Each bell-shaped bowl engraved with a full-blown rose, a closed rose, a single bud and four leaves, and with a hovering moth with curled antennae, short plain stem section above a double knopped multi-series air twist stem, snapped pontil. H: 7.125 in., Diam: 3 in. (rim), Diam: 3.25 in. (foot) Literature: Possibly the work of "engraver B," discussed and illustrated in Geoffrey B. Seddon, "The Jacobites and Their Drinking Glasses," p. 108.
