BIDDLE & CO./ PHILADELPHIA," the octagonal to round 27-inch barrel fastened to an elaborately-inlaid figured maple stock decorated with foliate scrollwork, the brass patch box with floral engraving, the opposite side of the stock inlaid with an engraved brass four- point compass star, along the top edge extending toward the butt plate from the grip, a brass medallion with flowerhead engraving and opposing bone teardrop inlays, the bottom of the stock with a third bone teardrop inlay.
