The lock plate marked "REMINGTON'S/ ILON, N.Y." with displayed American eagle and "1863," the 33-inch barrel with pivoting two-leaf v-notch rear sight, marked "STEEL" and "1863," fastened with two brass bands to the full-length walnut stock, two faint indiscernible inspector's cartouche marks opposite the lock plate, the butt stock with brass butt plate and patch box, the brass-handled bayonet with scabbard stamped "BH" on the grip. Length overall: 49 in. (rifle only) "Antique Firearm;" not subject to NFA regulations.
