FIRESCREEN ATTRIBUTED TO SAMUEL YELLIN
American, early 20th century, iron with bronze highlights in the manner of Oscar Bach. A masterpiece of iron-work with scrolling and foliate crest centering two opposing winged dragons with cup-form candleholders atop each bronze highlighted columnar end support, the screen centering a gilt bronze winged shield form medallion near the top with a dedication plaque at the bottom reading "In Memory Of Helene Westervelt Thielens BC Ill.; by gift of Mildred Westervelt Warner" (Helene's sister) ca. 1927-29.
