Pinned loop hinge top over two drawers on bracket feet, interior of lid retains part of original painted paper decoration, made of pine with beautiful hand-wrought nails and hinges, painted brown creating a faux mahogany finish, a beautiful, early chest. RISD Museum accession number D31.368.

Deaccessioned from The Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, Rhode Island, D31.368. Gift of the estate of Mrs. Gustav Radeke to the museum. All proceeds from the collection are being used to further expand and preserve the current collection.

Condition
Small losses to drawer fronts, surface wear with scattered nicks, wear to original paint as expected with age, brown splatter across front, otherwise a nice original chest, please refer to photographs.
