A rare find that has been preserved well through time retaining an incredible portion of its original polychrome paint decoration, central board with mustard paint with green center and black stencil decoration with "LOOK OUT" along bottom and "1830" at top, side rails with green paint with swag decoration and red trim, RISD Museum accession number D44.624. You will be hard pressed to find another child's sled of the period with this intricate of a decoration.

Old repair to tip of left front runner, age splits to wood with minor losses, surface wear and wood checks as expected from age and use, a nicely preserved example and rare find today, please refer to photographs.
