Connecticut,Circa 1880
Rare and early painted tin horse drawn wagon manufactured by George Brown Company of Forestville, Connecticut for G.A. Schwarz, Philadelphia. Highly detailed wagon with opening side flaps reading "G.A. Schwarz Toys Fancy Goods 1006 Chestnut St. Phila, PA", opening tailgate, and removable driver (missing). Toy is in original condition except for two older silver solder repairs to back axle supports, retains an incredible amount of original paint for the age and per our research the only example to surface with brown painted horses to date. RISD Museum accession number D44.519.77. A rare opportunity for collectors today!

Condition
Missing driver, two old silver solder repairs to back axle support, one rear tailgate hinge cracked, wear to original paint with oxidation in areas, otherwise a nice example of a very rare and early toy.
