Description
Although this particular jacket shows wear, it is generally better than what appears. The leather is actually in fairly nice condition with most condition issues noted in the shoulder seams and lining. The shoulder seams are split but could be repaired. The 10th AAF insignia is in poor condition. However, both the squadron and group patches are intact. The lining is poor, yet retains the original spec label. The original owner attempted to maintain the liner by using duct tape. Preservation and/or restoration could benefit this jacket tremendously. The reverse has an original leather CBI blood chit, with a leather American flag blood chit on the interior. The jacket is named and identified to 33rd Fighter Squadron P-38 Pilot Lt. Clarence McElfresh. Note the small silver P-38 pin on the CBI-made multi-constructed squadron patch. Includes an original 33rd Fighter Group unit history, and bullion India-Made CBI Pillow case.
