DESCRIPTION: 27 antique books, from the "Author's National Edition" of works by Mark Twain published by Harper & Brothers. Includes 23 volumes of works by Mark Twain (including, among others: "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," "The Innocents Abroad," "Life on the Mississippi," "The Prince and the Pauper," "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" and "Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc"), each in green cloth binding and with a facsimile of Twain's writing near the front reading (with or without the word "all"): "This is the authorized Uniform Edition of all my books. Mark Twain". Also includes four volumes of "Mark Twain: A Biography" by Albert Bigelow Paine, each in a blue cloth binding.

CONDITION: All books have general minor toning, staining, fraying, wrinkling and/or other wear consistent with age and use; text is in good condition. Missing volume 7 ("Roughing It" Vol. 1) and volume 21 ("The American Claimant Etc."). Wear to the spine of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn"'s front board is mostly separated and the page featuring a facsimile of Twain's writing is detached; the spine of this volume is cocked and somewhat detached from the signatures at top. Minor tearing, not affecting the text, to some pages of volume 1 of "Joan of Arc"; some minor wrinkling to some pages of this volume as well, affecting the text although not affecting readability. Folded corners on a few pages of volume 2 of "Joan of Arc". Wrinkling to the cloth on the front board and very minor tear to title page of volume 23 ("Literary Essays"). Wrinkling to the cloth on the front board of volume 23 ("The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg Etc"). Fold on last page of volume 24 ("The $30,000 Dollar Bequest Etc.") Wrinkling to boards of volume 6.
