Louisiana Cast Iron Sugar Kettle, 19th c, with a flared rim, H.- 16 in., Dia.- 42 in. Provenance: “Little Oaks,” Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, the private collection of Dr. Donald & Deborah Bell.
Condition
Kettle has dents to rim, some light pitting, rust and oxidation-as is to be expected with outdoor industrial use. Kettle has no holes and can hold water. It is structurally sound. No visible gallon marker was detected.
