Description
Pair of French Gilt and Patinated Bronze Putti Six Light Candelabra, 20th c., each with a patinated putto upholding five scrolled arms with relief grape bunches and leaf decoration, around a like decorated central straight arm, on a sloping socle support with relief flowers, on an integral base with four splayed scrolled legs, on a brass quadruped plinth, now electrified, H.- 24 in., W.- 9 in., D.- 7 1/4 in. (2 Pcs.) Provenance: “Little Oaks,” Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, the private collection of Dr. Donald & Deborah Bell.
Condition
In overall good condition with no visible repairs. One base has a couple casting cracks and tiny losses to its piercework. The other candelabra has a scratch to the body of the putto and the rim at the base of the candelabra (where it attaches to the Putti standard) is bent. One of the shades has a tear to the inside lining.
