Description
An antique late 19th-century German sterling silver candy bowl, a footed serving basket with reticulated pierced design. The sides decorated with relief floral garlands and two engraved medallions. The first presents stylized initials CLR, the second depicts a coat of arms with a knights helmet and motto Qui Plantavit Curabit, He who planted us will care for us. The medallions indicate that the bowl was a property of the Roosevelt family. Crescent and crown mark, 800 fineness, Netter, 386 mark are on the bottom of the piece. Weight: 672 grams.
