Baule "Kpan" Face Mask - Aboriginal Indigenous Art - Once ritualware from the Baule people of the Ivory Coast of Africa. Made of wood. Goli is a Baule dance of "rejoicing". Kpan represents the senior female among the characters performing in Goli. The Kpan character can be recognized by its elaborate crested coiffure. Seen with a red face and surprisingly no slits for the eyes. Item comes from the collection of Timothy Koock. Ships from Austin, Tx.
