Drypoint etching, pencil signed lower left, rich impression from and edition of 150, printed on Whatman watermarked medium weight paper. (Ordeman 243) Benson is a seminal figure in American sporting art of the 19th and 20th Century, and is credited with making the American sporting print a distinct art from. He studied in Boston at the Museum of Fine Arts and in Paris at the Academie Julian at the height of the French Impressionism movement.
