Swimming Mallard Hen
Mitchel LaFrance (1882-1979)
Phoenix-Davant, LA, c. 1935
16 3/4 in. long

A classic early LaFrance decoy with crisp paint, raised wings, and full cheeks on its slightly turned and swimming head.
Original paint with moderate wear, including puppy chew to bill and original filler loss to line in left wing. Touch-up to reset neck.
