Gilbert Rafuse (b. 1908)
Chester Basin, Nova Scotia, Canada, c. 1980
18 in. long
A drake merganser with a leather crest and slight wing carving behind the breast. Rafuse was a carpenter and he began carving decoys in the 1930s.
Original paint with light wear.
