Outstanding Ruddy Duck
The Ward Brothers
Lemuel T. (1896-1984) and Stephen (1895-1976)
Crisfield, MD
16 1/2 in. long

An oversized ruddy duck hen with a broad bill and tail. The underside is inscribed "-1931- L.T. Ward - Bro. Crisfield, Md." with Lem's signature underneath. The style and exceptional paint and condition of this singular decoy relate closely to the mint group of Ward's collected by a Connecticut gentleman around 1930.
Original paint with light wear.

Provenance: Private Collection, Florida
