GRAND DUCHESS OLGA CONSTANTINOVNA: (1851-1926) Grand Duchess of Russia, wife of King George I of Greece. Queen Consort of the Hellenes 1867-1913 and Regent of Greece November-December 1920. A good A.L.S., Olga, four pages, in purple ink, 8vo, 14th September 1884, to Madame Lahissy, in Greek. The letter bears a very attractive silver embossed monogramme to the upper left heading. The Queen expresses her gratitude to her correspondent for the letter received and states in part `I hope my dearest Navarchina that you are not angry with me because I did not respond earlier to your letter, it is very difficult while travelling. In a few days I will have the great pleasure to see you and kiss you after so long…´, and further referring to the King saying `Our separation from George was very hard, but our consolation is that this time with the King of Denmark was good for him, and he is in good hands. Please give many greetings to our good Admiral. The King sends his greetings to both of you.´ Accompanied by the original envelope addressed in her hand, postmarked and stamped. G
