CHEVALIER MAURICE: (1888-1972) French actor, singer and entertainer, the recipient of an Honorary Academy Award. Vintage signed sepia 8 x 10 photograph of Chevalier in a head and shoulders pose wearing a military uniform in costume as Captain Danilo from the film adaptation of the operetta The Merry Widow (1934). Photograph by Clarence Sinclair Bull and bearing his blind embossed stamp to the lower right corner and a further credit stamp to the verso. Signed by Chevalier in blue fountain pen ink to a largely clear area at the base of the image. Some very light, minor mottling to the image, otherwise VG
