Ahrens, on the printed stationery of the Hotel Chatham. Smith thanks his correspondent for their compliment and adds that he has signed the sketch, continuing 'May I criticize? I think you might have shaded hollows in the cheeks - & some furrows in the foreheadâ€¦â€¦As you have it, the face seems too young for the 'Earl of Dorincourt', and by the way the moustache was much longer at the endsâ€¦..' With blank integral leaf. Together with a good vintage unsigned sepia 8 x 10 publicity still of Smith standing in a full-length pose in costume as the Earl of Dorincourt from the drama film Little Lord Fauntleroy (1936).
