Condition
Provenance: The Hastings Family Collection, La Canada, CA. Condition: Structurally sound. General marks, scratches, nicks and rubbed wear to surfaces. Top of seat with a 4.5''-long tight shrinkage crack along a seam and a 3.25''-long crack, and large areas of wear to finish revealing bare wood. Bottom edge of seat with very minor chipped losses to veneer along 1.5'' with clear varnish applied over and extending a total of 6'' along edge (possibly an attempt at repair.) Lower half of wooden leg with dryness and heavy wear to finish revealing bare wood, and with lifting to veneer along lower 4'' of one edge, and chipped losses to veneer of corners along bottom 1''. Mounting brackets bent (does not affect stability) and with tool marks. Lacking a set screw and a glide.
