The Roma 2000 millennium series consists of three writing instruments dedicated respectively to the first, second and third millennium in order to represent, through symbolic elements, the history of Humanity (first and second millennium) and astronomical symbols such as the sun, the moon and the stars (third millennium). They represent the mysteries of the Universe that Omas believes Man will be able to revere in the future.
A common design element of the I-II-III Millennium is a twist motif (one for the first, two for the second and three for the third millennium) linked by other symbolic elements for both technical and aesthetic purposes.
The second pen portrays the Crusades, Leonardo da Vinci, Christopher Columbus and his ships, the steam locomotive, the radio antenna, the formula for nuclear power and a missile representing the Space Age.
The pen is made of blue vegetable resin with sterling silver plating. A blue lapis lazuli stone is set in the top of each cap. The 18-karat gold clip is designed as a symbol of the third millennium. These fountain pens employ a piston filling system. The "ROMA 2000" collection, specially designed to celebrate the transition from the second to the third millennium, includes four types of writing instruments, each different in design and theme, to offer the widest selection. It truly defines the word "unique".
The year 2000 being the fourth centenary of the birth of this great sculptor, born in Naples but Roman by adoption, we accepted the offer of the Municipality of Rome to give our support (also in consideration of the philosophical significance of our collection) to help restore a small part of the "Eternal City", which is ready to welcome millions of visitors and pilgrims every year. The creation of all these objects, true masterpieces, which we hope are worthy of the famous sculptor of the Popes and the Nobility of the 17th century, has required the total commitment of the management and workers of OMAS.
