Description
Peter Green: A Jim Harley Violin Electric Bass Guitar, circa 1994, no serial no., bound body with sunburst finish, two pickups, two volume controls and three switches, pearloid scratchplate, Indian rosewood fingerboard with dot markers, headstock with maker's name inlay and two-a-side tuners, in plush-lined shaped hard case, guitar 43 1/2in (110.5cm) long Footnotes: Provenance: Acquired by Peter because he admired Paul McCartney as a bass player and the look of the Beatles' now-iconic Hofner. Peter can be seen playing an identical guitar during an interview about his guitar collection, filmed at Music Bank, available on YouTube (Peter Green Guitar Collection Parts 1 & 2). Peter jokes that the body is shaped '...more like a bed warmer than a violin', he then recalls his early bass playing day and how he converted his Harmony Meteor guitar into a bass and then changed it back to a 6-string and used it for an audition with John Mayall.
