Two Chinese Red Lacquer Sweetmeat Boxes
20th century, red lacquer painted in black, blue and gilt with auspicious Chinese motifs such as dragons, pairs of fish, longevity symbols, and Buddhist Treasure motifs, the largest a hexagonal shape, the interior divided for sweetmeat containers to be inserted, raised on shaped feet (6 1/2 x 21 x 18 in.), the smaller box is circular in shape with radiating petal design, interior has nine sweetmeat lacquer containers (4 in., 11 3/4 in. diameter).

Overall good estate condition; some chipping and loss to lacquer surface mainly to edges and rims from use.
