19th century, tall oblong ginger jar with fitted cover, hand painted in famille rose palette with the popular Chinese theme of a 100 boys at play and leisure, one side they are inside a noble palace and the other side they are dancing and playing at a dragon festival, lively and joyous theme, with turquoise glaze to the underside, comes together with a carved wooden base.
