Large vase, decorated with flowers and vegetal patterns. Armenian ceramics. Painted and glazed clay. Marked at the bottom. Apparently, made by the workshop of David Ohanesian. Jerusalem, Palestine, Circa the 1920s.The Armenian pottery workshop in Jerusalem was founded in 1919, at the end of WWI, when the British invited the iznik master potter David Ohannessian to help with the restoration of the tiles of the Dome of the rock mosque in Jerusalem. The workshop produced ceramics in the traditional Iznik style.Height: approximately 32 cm, diameter: 25 cm. Good condition, hole at the bottom - apparently for lamp, crack at the bottom, chips, wear. * All lots in this auction are located in South Carolina.
