A marvelous mid-century sterling silver pendent necklace by Irving Berg. Stamped with maker's mark "IB." A rectangular pendant showcases abstract forms and a hanging agate stone, which makes a unique statement. An example of wearable art. From a private collection. Dimensions: 25"l x 3"d. In good vintage condition. Irving Berg (1921-2009) studied at Cranbrook and in the 1960's he moved to Cass Tech also as the Head of the Art Department. His sculptures are in many private and public collections including the Detroit Institute of Arts, Wayne State University, and Camp Tamarack where the Irving Berg Sculpture Garden was erected over a period of 21 years. He was an active supporter of many organizations here and in Israel including the Jewish War Veterans and B'nai B'rith.
