Description
A radiant contemporary monolithic stacked glass sculpture made of tinted blue/green and black glass by Texan artist Damian Priour. The hard smooth industrial glass is intended as a metaphor for the properties of water, in all its forms and incarnations. Light and the refractive nature of the glass reflect the visual aesthetic of water. A result of the actions of eons of water, is a reminder of water's power. Together, the two represent the elemental scope of the most important building block of our universe - water. From a private collection. Dimensions: 28.5"h x 10"w x 6"d. In very good vintage condition. Damian Priour (1949-2011) opened Priour Studio in 1984. His work can be found in numerous collections including the Corning Museum of Glass, the Austin Museum of Art, the Austin Convention Center, the Equitable Companies of New York, the Texas Sculpture Garden in Frisco, and the Public Art Collections of Frisco, Grand Prairie, and Corpus Christi.
