Militaria: a Pelzmutze fur busby hat, Officers of the 7th (1st Rhenish) Hussar Regiment Konig Wilhelm I, Royal Prussian Army / Imperial German Army. Constructed from leather with fur outer and felt trim; the interior with satin lining (stamped 'DI') and with leather band. Bearing regimental wappen badge (formed as the cipher of Wilhelm I) above scrolling banner 'Mit Gott fur Konig und Vaterland.' The crown with gilt feldzeichen cockade, federbusch plume and fangschnur cord to the rear. The strap fitted with brass convex chinscales secured with pre-1887 pattern posts. Approx. size 7 7/8"
