Western Europe, Neoclassical Period, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A dazzling trio of cameos in gold settings: an agate cameo featuring the bust of the Roman goddess Flora and 2 shell cameos displaying godly processions. First, the agate cameo portrays the goddess in high relief and great detail as she faces right, her idealistic visage crowned by a lush, floral crown while tresses of her piled coiffure cascade down her neck, ending just before the fibula of her toga. Alternatively, the larger shell cameo exhibits a Bacchic procession with drunken Silenus reclining backward on his mule, as though about to fall off, and satyrs and youths dance around him. The last cameo shows a putto riding a goat with another putto striding in front and Cupid following at the rear. Size of largest (Bacchic procession): 1.2" W x 1" H (3 cm x 2.5 cm); of frame without hook: 4.8" W x 7.3" H (12.2 cm x 18.5 cm); of frame with hook: 4.8" W x 8.3" H (12.2 cm x 21.1 cm)

Cameos have not been examined outside of frame, so materials have not undergone gem or x-ray fluorescence testing. The 2 shell pendants have some chipping to peripheries of gold settings and some minor surface wear, but otherwise all 3 are intact and excellent with impressive remaining detail. All set in modern frame with suspension loop on top for display.
