Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, reign of Thutmose III, ca. 1479 to 1425 BCE. A hand-built faience scarab amulet that is glazed in thick, turquoise-hued pigment. The topside displays minimalist insectile features while the underside is inscribed with a truncated cartouche of Pharaoh Thutmose III (also Thutmosis III or Thothmes III) along with a short blessing. Size: 0.94" L x 0.64" W (2.4 cm x 1.6 cm)

Condition
Minor nicks and abrasions, with fading to glaze in scattered areas, and softening to some finer details and hieroglyphs, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to glaze color in most areas. Cartouche is still visible.
